Park Road believes that community is crucial to our growth as disciples of Jesus. God’s people function in community throughout all of Scripture. In Acts 2:42-27, we learn that the early Church met, not only corporately, but in small communities in people’s homes.
Whether you are new to following Jesus or have been following him for decades, joining a small group enables you to engage in community in a special way, building relationships, learning from one another, and supporting one another. Small groups consist of eight to twelve adults. Most groups meet twice a month for an hour and a half at a designated place like a group leader’s home.
A small group meeting typically looks something like this: Group members arrive and chat casually until the start time. Then a group leader facilitates a discussion about the group’s Bible study. Everyone is welcome to share their thoughts or simply listen. To close, the group shares prayer requests and prays together. Small groups commit to maintain respect and confidentiality at all times. Group leaders also organize occasional events outside of this regular gathering time just for fun, food, and fellowship.
Park Road strongly believes in the value of small groups and desires to make them as accessible as possible. We have designated funds available to reimburse small group childcare, making it easier for parents of young children to participate.
