Student & Family Ministry

At Park Road we are committed to fully engaging our families and students in everything that we do.

Students are not just the NEXT Generation. They are a part of THIS Generation!

We believe that for young people to stay connected to the church, as they enter into young adulthood, they need to be engaged in the church as students. We believe young people that serve alongside their parent(s) and other adults in the church in the local community and beyond, will begin to grow vibrant faith that lasts a life time!

We want young people to know they have gifts to contribute to the Kingdom of God and that they are an important part of our community.

We also want families to know that we support them in their efforts towards raising young people who love and serve the Lord.

For just as the body is one and has many members, and all the members of the body, though many, are one body, so it is with Christ.

1 Corinthians 12:12

Park Road has three main formats for youth discipleship:

Every Sunday from September - June, Sunday School follows worship. Here we take time to study God's Word in depth, asking what God's Word says and what it means for my life. The Jr. and Sr. High Youth are divided into individual classes after spending some time gathering, snacking and praying as one group.

Also running from September - June, on most Sunday evenings from 5-6 pm is our Youth Group for Jr. and Sr. High Students. We have fun times, serious discussions and open conversations. The Sr. High youth are a part of this planning and are involved in making it their own. Youth leaders from the congregation who are committed to our young people pray with, laugh alongside and walk the path of life with these young people. We are always happy to have youth from the local community join us who do not attend our church. Please contact Drew Thomas at with questions or if you would like to find out more.

Finally, on a regular basis we have Inter-generational Activities with the whole congregation that the youth plan and participate in alongside their fellow church members. Sometimes we serve alongside a local ministry partner like when we plan “football parties” for the men at a mission nearby. Other times we run topical conversations that are open to the whole congregation on important issues such as Mental Health and the Church or Homelessness and Ministering to People on the Margins.

We hope you, your family and your student(s) will join us in this practical, discipleship based, outreach oriented youth ministry.

Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.
